Successful trade show presence: funworld performed well at IMA and ATEI!

The first two trade shows of the year — the IMA in Düsseldorf and the ATEI in London — were very positive for funworld. The Austrian entertainment specialist introduced a variety of product innovations at the trade shows and continued to sustainably build on international relationships.

“We are more than satisfied with our performance at IMA and ATEI. We were able to enjoy major interest in our product innovations and attract new customers from the emerging markets of Russian and Romania,” says Josef Öhlinger, CEO funworld ag.

The trade show highlights

Never before has funworld presented such a large product range at trade shows as it has this year. The touchscreen innovator’s product palette ranges from PHOTO PLAY to sports betting and poker. In the beginning of the last year the entertainment company repositioned itself, and has since that time pursued an ambitious multiple product strategy.

“The new PHOTO PLAY 2009 game update, the innovative PHOTO PLAY RACER PRO II game terminal and the unique POKER Twin-Star poker terminal crystallised as trade show highlights at IMA as well as ATEI,” emphasised Öhlinger.

PHOTO PLAY 2009 fascinated trade show visitors with the touchscreen optimised Orca Slap, Pingu Throw, Icicle Climb und Flamingo Drive Yetisports games. PHOTO PLAY RACER PRO II scored points with the double monitor that is very effective for advertising and the trend setting SSD technology, which guarantees high stability and extreme speeds. POKER Twin-Star also attracted a great deal of curiosity at the trade shows because of providing a unique online game experience, the contemporary design and its two independent game surfaces.

Also garnering major attention at IMA were funworld’s new sports betting solutions BET-Shop and funstation, which were specially developed for the German market. BET-Shop made an impact as a sophisticated online betting shop with an attractive sports betting offer. funstation clearly set itself apart from the usual betting offers, as it is an innovative surfing table with an added value portal, which includes classic Internet surfing as well as exciting sports betting and selected PHOTO PLAY games.

Quite a stir was also caused by the new in the proven betting terminal touch2win II integrated live betting program “X-LIVE” primarily marked by the so called “Zero points betting” that will be available from March 2009. Regardless the time when the customers place the bets on a specific sport event, by the “Zero points betting” only those goals count which are shot after the placement of the bets. This means that upon placing each bet the game score is zeroed out again to 0:0.

In addition to PHOTO PLAY 2009, RACER PRO II and POKER Twin-Star, the new Touch Toy children’s terminal and the Gam-X game terminal developed especially for Italy in cooperation with Microgame made a particular impact on trade show guests. Touch Toy aroused a lot of interest through its educational games and alternative operating possibilities in banks, shopping centres and furniture stores. Gam-X presented a multifaceted game offer including People’s Poker, PHOTO PLAY Skill Games, Scratch Lotteries, betting and bingo and provided a customized entertainment solution for the Italian market.

Promoting the international customer network

funworld utilised the IMA and ATEI, however, to not only present product innovations but also to support and expand international customer relationships. The branch’s two most important trade shows served as the ideal platform for funworld to make new contacts and intensify existing ones.

“IMA and ATEI are the optimal platforms for us to introduce our product innovations and to pursue targeted networking. We were thereby able to push ahead with new projects and deepen existing business relationships. Moreover, new partnerships could be made, as we have for example been successful for Eastern Europe, where we attracted new customers for Russia and Romania”, declares Öhlinger.
